Frances Notz Obituary

Frances Georgine Notz, 85, of Grove City, formerly of Sandy Lake, passed away on September 12, 2018 at Grove City Medical Center. She was a resident of Orchard Manor for many years. Frances was born in Sandy Lake on January 5, 1933 to the late Ralph James and Nancy Bell King Brocklehurst. She was a graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to work as a nurse’s aide for Venango Manor. Frances was a member of Coolspring Presbyterian Church and was very active there in her earlier years. She loved fishing, sewing, and canning. Above all else she loved her family very much and spending as much time with them as she could. Frances is survived by her children, Ralph Szeszko of Polk, Marie Shaw and husband Eugene of Madison, GA, and Robert Notz and wife Lauren of Erie, grandchildren Heidi Moore, Brian Moore, Nicholas Fertig and wife Jenise, Miyah Fertig, RJ Szeszko, Amanda Lantz and husband Joe, and Samantha Daly and Husband, William, great-grandchildren Steph, Adin, Thoryn, Colten, and Mckenzie. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband Walter Notz, and sisters Josephine Lutes, Betty Stoops, and Ida Darraugh. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro, where family and friends are welcome from 1 pm -2 pm on Sunday, September 16. A funeral service will follow visitation at 2 pm with the Reverend Phillip H. Chalfant, retired pastor, serving Hadley Presbyterian Church, officiating.
