Ida Brest Obituary

Ida M. Brest, 91 of Sandy Lake, formerly of Sharpsville, passed away at her home on April 26, 2020. Ida was born in Coolspring Twp on December 19, 1928 to the late Dent and Mabel (Walker) Vernon. Ida was a graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to have a career as a secretary and office manager at Westinghouse in Sharon. Ida married her beloved husband, Alton Brest in 1952, he preceded her in death in 1999. Ida was a hard worker and was a career woman. In her spare time, she enjoyed harness racing. She most recently was attending the New Lebanon Community Church. Ida is survived by her nephews, Charlie Flickenger and wife Deb, Dave Flickenger and wife Ardeth, and niece Janice Young and husband John, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister Phyllis Flickenger. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
