Karen Amos Obituary

Karen L. Amos, 71 of Jefferson Township, Mercer, passed away on January 12, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. Karen was born in Grove City on March 15, 1947 to the late Clifford Ray and Ida Mae Owens Chisholm. She was a 1965 graduate of Grove City High School. Karen married her beloved husband, Roland Keith Amos, on December 15, 1979, he survives at home. Karen was a homemaker for her husband and children and loved them dearly. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and hunting. Most of all she enjoyed family time, spending time with her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Karen was a longtime member of the Stoneboro Presbyterian Church. In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her children, Kim Watson (Kevin) of West Middlesex, J. Scott Maxwell (Mindy) of Millbrook, Douglas Maxwell (Deana) of Jackson Center, Jamie Maxwell (Lisa) of Sharpsville, Nicole Myers (Michael) of Jackson Center, Tracy Grandelis of Houston, PA, and Timothy K. Amos (Beth) of Pittsburgh, grandchildren Anthony “Bubba” Celenzi, Lisa Rossi (Geno), Kelcie Elizabeth Maxwell, Jamie Nicole Maxwell, Wyatt Maxwell, William “Billy” Kinsey, Taylor Maxwell, Dougie Maxwell, Connor Maxwell, Kala Maxwell, Kyle Maxwell, Mikey Myers, Tyler Myers, Sophie Myers, Dane Grandelis, Max Grandelis, Nate Grandelis, and Jake Amos, great-grandchildren Geno, Enzo, Brookelynn, Trent, Remi, Parker, Roselle, and Etta, brothers Clifford Chisholm (Gloria) and Bill Chisholm, as well as several nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, January 15 and 10-11 am on Wednesday, January 16. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 16, at 11 am with the Reverend Elizabeth Creekpaum, Pastor of Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, Officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Karen’s name to Sharon Regional Hospice, 1955 Shenango Valley Fwy, Hermitage, PA 16148.
