Max Best Obituary

Max L. Best, 80 of Millcreek Township, New Lebanon, passed away on January 27, 2019 at his home. Max was born on February 19, 1938 in Toby Township, Clarion County, to the late Cleveland Best and Bertha Garis. He was a graduate of Sligo High School and worked for 35 years at PPG in Meadville in various departments. Max was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Station 4 Firehouse Grill in Cochranton, as well as the Moose Lodge and American Legion in Cochranton. Max is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Kozalla Best, children Christopher Best and Jennifer Apfel and husband Todd, mother of his granddaughter, Edith Cooper, granddaughter Kaitlynn, grandsons Branden and Chase, great-grandson Jordan, and sister Julie Risinger and husband Melvin. Max was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Mary, Peter, William, Jerry, Delbert, Walter, Herbert, and Gary. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. There will be no public services as per Max’s wishes.
