William J. "Bill" Grasinger

William J. “Bill” Grasinger of Stoneboro, passed away in Erie on August 4, 2019, the morning after his 98th Birthday. Bill was born on August 3, 1921 in Stoneboro to the late Joseph A. and Elsie Harrison Grasinger. He was a 1940 graduate of Stoneboro High School and went on to serve his Country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theatre and was in five invasions. Bill then went to work at Westinghouse in Sharon as an Industrial Engineer until his retirement. Bill was married to his beloved wife, Bonnie A. “Bunny” McConnell, she preceded him in death in 2004. Bill was Catholic by faith and grew up in St. Columbkille Parish. Over the years Bill was a member of the Reynolds VFW, Jackson Field & Stream Club, served on the Stoneboro Fair Board, the Stoneboro Council, former president of the Stoneboro Yacht Club, and former president of Lakeview Knothole Little League. Bill was a beloved member of the Stoneboro Community and will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by his three sons, William J. Grasinger Jr and wife Bobbie of Meadville, James W. Grasinger and wife Theresa of Erie, and Joseph A. Grasinger and wife Janice of Greenville, five grandchildren, Robert, Gregory, Abigail, Tyler, and Chris, and four great-grandchildren, Mark, John, Robert, and Lydia. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Widel. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of STONEBORO, 99 Franklin Street, where family and friends are welcome from 4-7 on Wednesday, August 7. A graveside committal service will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery on Thursday, August 8, at 11 am with Father Robert A. Manning, officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S.
