Judith (Judy) Kirberger Obituary

Judith (Judy) Lee Kirberger, 78, of Guys Mills, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2024 with her loving husband by her side.

She was born December 2, 1945 in Meadville, a daughter of the late C. Victor and Ruth Bunting Armstrong. She married Brian Kirberger August 29, 1964.

Judy was a graduate of Randolph High School. She worked in the credit department of W.T. Grant in Erie after graduating high school and later employed as a bookkeeper for Dr. Moyers and for Flowers by Lynda, both in Meadville.

A member of St. Hippolyte Church, Judy enjoyed watching college basketball, and was an avid fan of the Notre Dame team. She loved reading, playing cards with family and friends, and was an active volunteer for many years with the Maplewood High School girls’ basketball team and Frenchtown Athletic Association.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Brian of almost 60 years, include three sons, Michael Kirberger (Barbara Sliter Kirberger) of Lilburn, GA, Steven Kirberger (Marcela) of Carmel, IN, and Casey Kirberger (Jonelle) of South Mills, NC; nine grandchildren, Connor, Caoilinn, Logan, Marco, Bianca, Alexander, Clayton, Rachel, and Courtney; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Luca; and a brother, Gary Fairman (Jane) of North Canton, OH.

She is also survived by lifelong friends Sylvia Wright, Gale Rice, Jackie Coolidge, Linda Deignan, and Carol Randall. In her later years, she developed a special bond with her caregivers Lewrose Myers and Allison Peachy.

Calling hours will be Monday, March 25 from 4-7 p.m. at ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hippolyte Church, 25997 State Hwy 27, Guys Mills with Fr. Michael Kesicki as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
